Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Caroline Lucas (Green Party), on Monday, 31 January 2011, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 42 members in total.
PARLIAMENTARY MODERNISATION AND REFORM
That this House takes note of recent changes in business management of the House; believes that a number of other changes deserve early examination both in terms of the modernisation of parliamentary procedure and increasing the accountability of the executive to the legislature; and requests that, given the inevitable time constraints on the Procedure Committee, the Leader of the House consults and brings forward proposals for a cross-party mechanism that would enable an early examination of these matters.
