Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Haselhurst (Conservative), on Wednesday, 19 February 1992, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 21 members in total.
TELEVISION COVERAGE OF CRICKET'S WORLD CUP
That this House appreciates the efforts of B Sky B to offer its viewers a wide range of the best of sport and its right to negotiate an exclusive contract to televise cricket's World Cup live in this country; but believes it would be against the long-term interests of B Sky B to anger many viewers by failing to arrive at a commonsense commercial arrangement with the BBC to allow the Corporation to show recorded highlights, thus reciprocating the summer arrangement whereby B Sky B broadcasts evening summaries of the BBC's live ball-by-ball transmission.
