Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Anne Main (Conservative), on Wednesday, 12 October 2011, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 3 members in total.
FUTURE COSTS OF SEPTEMBER SITTINGS
That this House notes the Answer of 11 October 2011, Official Report, column 319W, on sitting days, which states that to avoid an accumulation of a backlog of works, further September sittings would be likely to have a marginal cost of some 1.5 million; believes that additional burdens should not be placed on the taxpayer; considers that the current scheduling of sittings could contribute to an additional burden on the public purse; and calls on the Government to review the current pattern of sittings in September to see if better scheduling can deliver better value for the taxpayer.
