PEABODY'S 150th ANNIVERSARY

That this House recognises the role that Peabody has played in London as a pioneer of social housing over the last 150 years; notes that it currently provides homes for 55,000 people in London and also delivers a wide range of community projects that improve access to employment training and opportunities that have a positive impact on people's lives; joins in congratulating Peabody on celebrating its 150th milestone on 26 March 2012, exactly 150 years since The Times announced George Peabody's founding donation, and with a year of activities for all; further recognises that the anniversary is also a celebration of London's rich social history; and welcomes Peabody's focus on helping London's communities to flourish by providing a good home, a real sense of purpose and a strong feeling of belonging for as many people as possible.
