Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Jim McGovern (Labour), on Monday, 14 May 2012, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 16 members in total.

BLACK WATCH

That this House calls on the Government to protect the identity of the Black Watch and the other historic battalions of Scotland; recognises the centuries of brave and loyal service of the Black Watch and urges that it be maintained as an integral part of the British Army within the UK; acknowledges the deep ties that the Black Watch has with local communities of Tayside and Fife, including the city of Dundee; and calls on the Government to abandon its callous plans to rob Scottish communities of their historic army units.
