FALLS AWARENESS WEEK
That this House notes that over 220,000 people per year aged over 60 break bones due to a fall; further notes that injuries from falls are one of the leading causes of death for over 75s; welcomes specific programmes for improving strength and balance which can reduce the risk of falls by as much as 55 per cent; and congratulates Age UK on its Falls Awareness Week from 18 to 22 June 2012.
