MIDDLE EAST WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION-FREE ZONE
That this House notes the statement at the Non-Proliferation Treaty Preparatory Committee, by Jaakko Laajava, the facilitator for the proposed conference on a Weapons of Mass Destruction-Free Zone in the Middle East, that `the question of participation requires further consultation' and that `intensified efforts are needed both by the facilitator, the conveners and the States of the region'; and urges the Government, as one of those conveners, to do its utmost to ensure a conference takes place in 2012 and is supported and attended by all States of the region.
