Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor George Galloway (Respect Party), on Thursday, 16 May 2013, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 5 members in total.
ORWELL PRIZE WINNER
That this House congratulates the winner of the Orwell book prize for political writing, A T Williams, for his investigation into the killing of the hotel receptionist Baha Mousa by British soldiers in Iraq; notes that the book, A Very British Killing, unearthed damning evidence about what really happened to Mousa, who was beaten to death in 2003; and believes that the book should be required reading for all British soldiers as part of their training.
