Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Campbell of Pittenweem (Liberal Democrat), on Friday, 22 November 1991, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 28 members in total.
DEER FARMING IN SCOTLAND
That this House recognises the useful contribution which deer farming makes to agriculture in Scotland but regrets the failure of Her Majesty's Government to extend hill livestock compensatory amounts to farmed deer which has the effect of penalising a potentially valuable form of diversification, the end product of which is extremely healthy and nutritious; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to provide proper support for deer farming as an integral part of agriculture in Scotland.
