Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Angus Robertson (Scottish National Party), on Wednesday, 4 November 2015, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 29 members in total.

REDEDICATION OF PLUSCARDEN ABBEY CHURCH

That this House congratulates the Benedictine Community of Pluscarden Abbey, near Elgin, on the rededication of its Abbey Church on Thursday 5 November 2015; notes that the Abbey was originally founded in 1230, but was unused from the Reformation until monastic observance was begun again in 1948; further notes the commitment of the community to the preservation of Gregorian plainchant in their monastic services and commends the welcome offered to visitors of all faiths and none seeking a peaceful retreat from the secular world; believes that the rededication of the Church is an important milestone in the Abbey's modern history, and wishes the community well as it continues to live out its motto, taken from the Bible (Haggai 2:9), in loco isto dabo pacem, meaning in this place I will give peace.
