Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Steve Rotheram (Labour), on Wednesday, 20 July 2016, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 17 members in total.
COLIN MURRAY AND TALKSPORT
That this House praises radio presenter Colin Murray for his principled stance in quitting his morning radio show on TalkSPORT following its parent company's buyout by News Corp; notes that he considered his position unsustainable due to the future working relationship between TalkSport and The Sun newspaper, which News Corp also owns; recognises that his departure was motivated by The Sun's coverage of the Hillsborough disaster; and expresses admiration for his reference and loyalty to the 96 victims of Britain's worst ever sporting disaster.
