WORLD DIABETES DAY
That this House supports World Diabetes Day on 4 November 2016, when millions of people around the world come together to raise awareness of diabetes; congratulates the International Diabetes Federation for running this annual campaign; notes that diabetes currently affects 415 million people worldwide and is expected to affect 642 million people; congratulates hon. Members, individuals and businesses worldwide for lighting up local monuments in blue, and to hundreds of other people across the UK for taking blue circle selfies, wearing blue and organising events and screenings for World Diabetes Day; and urges the Government to support the NHS in funding diabetes prevention programmes and improving standards of care for diabetic patients.
