Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor David Morris (Conservative), on Wednesday, 8 March 2017, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 10 members in total.
ANAKINRA
That this House notes the decision by NICE to stop the availability of the drug anakinra for patients who have been diagnosed with the rare condition Tumour Necrosis Factor Receptor Periodic Syndrome after March 2016; further notes that the decision was to allow the use of anakinra in exceptional circumstances; believes that the case of Harriet North from Morecambe and Lunesdale is an exceptional circumstance as it is one of the worst cases of the illness in the 70 cases in the county; and urges NHS England to reconsider their decision and to allow Harriet to be prescribed anakinra to not only improve her quality of life but extend her life.
