EAST DURHAM TRUST - PEOPLE'S TAKEAWAY
That this House commends the work of the East Durham Trust and its radical new initiative, the People's Takeaway, that is helping to tackle food poverty in the Easington constituency; notes that People's Takeaway is a volunteer-led project that will provide a hot meals for families in need; welcomes the support of Comic Relief who will match fund pound for pound donations made to the project by 16 November 2017; encourages people to show their support by visiting and donating at www.eastdurhamtrust.org.uk; thanks all the team at the East Durham Trust for their commitment and dedication to the people of East Durham, helping to fight poverty and deprivation in our community; and calls on Ministers to do more to ensure the most vulnerable in society do not fall into poverty and hardship as a result of government policy.
