FLYING OFFICER HUGH P BUCHANAN
That this House notes the recent passing of Flying Officer Hugh P Buchanan, and sends sympathy to his widow Doris Conway Buchanan; commits as part of Remembrance Day 2017 to remember his service in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War in defence of Britain; further notes his piloting of a Halifax Bomber on 21 sorties, of which two were combat missions and 19 were in support of Special Operations Executive missions; commends his bravery and exceptional flying skill in the face of enemy fire; recognises his dedication to his crew and his solidarity with Royal Air Force personnel; and reaffirms the deep and longstanding bond of friendship between the UK and Canada.
