BOUNDARY COMMISSION

That this House notes that the revised proposals for the parliamentary constituency boundaries are currently in consultation; further notes that the Boundary Commission has a duty to listen to the representations made to it; regrets that the Boundary Commission failed in its duty to take into consideration 5,957 constituents, the largest response to its consultations in history in the first two rounds of representations from Morecambe and Lunesdale against its proposal of a merged Lancaster and Morecambe seat and to create a new North Lancashire seat; and further regrets that the Boundary Commission failed to take into consideration the views of the town of Carnforth in its review.
