Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Stephen Gethins (Scottish National Party), on Wednesday, 9 January 2019, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 15 members in total.
FALKLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL ROAD SAFETY INITIATIVE
That this House commends Falkland Primary School, Fife, on pioneering an initiative to raise awareness of the need for motorists to exercise caution when driving near the school; congratulates pupils and staff on the initiative, which includes forming a travel action group comprising parents and junior road safety officers and creating a road safety banner designed by pupils to highlight concerns to the community and visitors; recognises the efforts involved in overcoming significant difficulties of developing a school travel plan given the historic nature of the village, lack of parking and school location next to the main road; and hopes that the school, in partnership with Fife Council and Police Scotland, will succeed in creating a safer environment for all.
