Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Andrew Bennett (Labour), on Thursday, 8 July 1993, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 68 members in total.

CRIMINAL CASES REVIEW AUTHORITY

That this House welcomes the proposal in the Report of the Royal Commission on Criminal Justice for the establishment of an independent Criminal Cases Review Authority; but believes that for such an authority to help restore public confidence in the criminal justice system it should have wide ranging powers and demonstrate independence from the prosecuting authorities.
