Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Pete Wishart (Scottish National Party), on Wednesday, 4 September 2019, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 3 members in total.
STONE OF DESTINY
That this House believes that the Stone of Destiny should be returned to its rightful home in Perthshire; welcomes the consultation on the future of the Stone initiated by the Scottish Government; welcomes the £23 million refurbishment of the Perth City Hall and recognises that this will be a first-class location to see the Stone; notes that unlike its current location in Edinburgh it will be viewed for free; notes that Perth is within 90 minutes of over 70 per cent of Scotland's population and is therefore ideally located for all of Scotland to visit the stone; and wishes the people of Perthshire every success in its bid to have the Stone returned to the Fair City.
