That this House notes newspaper reports that National Westminster Bank is keeping computer files on political opinions and affiliations of some of its customers; calls for all such customers to be notified of such records and given an explanation of the reason why they were kept; and urges Her Majesty's Government to give the Data Protection Registrar adequate resources to conduct a full and open inquiry into the extent and availability of such files.
