Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Bob Cryer (Labour), on Monday, 19 July 1993, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 87 members in total.
VOTE AGAINST OPTING OUT AT WIBSEY FIRST SCHOOL IN BRADFORD
That this House congratulates the parents at Wibsey First School in Bradford South for the splendid vote against opting out; notes that, of 508 parents who voted, 102 voted for whilst a massive 406 voted against; expresses particular pleasure that this outstanding result was achieved against a background of attempted disruption of the democratic processes organised by the Conservative Chairman of Governors; and recognises the remarkable achievement of the campaigners for a no vote in ensuring that full information of the issues involved was circulated to all parents.
