Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Bob Cryer (Labour), on Monday, 26 July 1993, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 19 members in total.

EQUALITY OF ELECTION

That this House is appalled by the tradition of discrimination in favour of Privy Councillors both at Question Time and in debates; notes that since they are so often called early they avoid the limitations on speaking time which can be applied; and urges the Select Committee on Procedure to examine this out-dated and anti-democratic tradition with a view to recommending that it be scrapped at the earliest opportunity to ensure proper equality of elected members.
