NATIONAL NETWORK OF POST OFFICES AND SUB POST OFFICES

That this House acknowledges the excellent service provided by the national network of post offices and sub post offices; understands that they provide a local centre of information, help and advice to a wide range of people, especially pensioners; accepts that post offices and sub post offices are conveniently located providing useful access for local people; expresses strong opposition to any Government proposals which may harm these facilities; and specifically urges the Department of Social Security to end its campaign to persuade benefit recipients to adopt automatic credit transfer.
