Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Barbara Roche (Labour), on Monday, 10 May 1993, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 137 members in total.
CONSERVATIVE PARTY FINANCES (No.2)
That this House condemns Asil Nadir's breach of bail; notes he was responsible for contributing ??1.5 million to the Conservative Party, at least ??440,000 of which was donated without any disclosure in company accounts, and which Baroness Thatcher described as 'marvellous encouragement'; congratulates Business Age on its recent expose of the unexplained ??71 million donated to the Conservative Party over the past eight years; and urges the Conservative Party to produce accurate accounts immediately, so that the people of Britain can see exactly whose money has paid for the last three Conservative General Election campaigns.
