Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Martin Redmond (Labour), on Tuesday, 8 June 1993, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 46 members in total.

HEALTH AUTHORITY AND HEALTH TRUST MANAGEMENT

That this House condemns the Secretary of State for Health, and her two immediate predecessors, for their removal of any vestige of democracy in health authority and health trust management, and for introducing a system of appointment of chairmen and non-executive directors clearly modelled on the totalitarian systems, resulting in the great majority of the chairmen and non-executive directors appointed having as their prime, and often their only interest, the large sums of money that they are paid by the National Health Service for their pitifully limited contribution to health care.
