Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Gavin Newlands (Scottish National Party), on Wednesday, 22 September 2021, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 10 members in total.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and Renfrewshire Council

That this House notes that Renfrewshire Council is the first local authority in Scotland to offer all three to five year olds the opportunity to register for the book gifting service provided by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library; understands that in 2020 that charity gifted its 150 millionth book; believes that providing books in early years can promote a lifelong love of reading and improve literacy rates; and congratulates Gail Abraham and Julie Paterson at Renfrewshire Council for their hard work and dedication in managing and promoting a project which will raise attainment for all in Renfrewshire.
