Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Alan Simpson (Labour), on Thursday, 22 April 1993, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 18 members in total.

IRAQI NATIONALS IN BRITAIN

That this House deplores the fact that the British Government continues to freeze the financial assets of Iraqi nationals who live and work in Britain, allowing them access only to day to day living expenses; recognises that those affected are invariably valued and respected employees in reputable British firms or in educational establishments who do not warrant being treated as potential criminals; and calls upon the Government to abandon this unnecessary and invidious treatment of foreign nationals in Britain.
