A Dyslexic Life campaign
That this House welcomes A Dyslexic Life campaign, which originated in Na h-Eileanan an Iar and has gained traction in Scotland and across the UK; recognises that one in 10 people have dyslexia and notably over five in 10 prisoners have dyslexia; calls on the UK Government to support the Private Members Bill entitled Dyslexia Screening and Teacher Training Bill which will apply in England, but hopes that similar bills will be introduced in the devolved nations; commends those educational institutions which proactively screen and assess children for dyslexia; welcomes training for teachers to recognise signs of dyslexia; and commends the work of teachers and parents who actively assist children with dyslexia.
