Environmental situation at Lough Neagh
That this House recognises Lough Neagh as one of Northern Ireland's most significant natural assets of huge ecological importance; notes that Lough Neagh supports an immense range of biodiversity, provides approximately 40% of people in Northern Ireland with drinking water and provides livelihoods and leisure for many; further notes the unprecedented ecological and environmental crisis emergency facing the Lough; and calls on the UK Government and Secretary of State for Northern Ireland to work with all Northern Ireland Departments and stakeholder organisations to create a taskforce to address the situation urgently and to have discussions on the future of Lough Neagh and its protection.
