Sir Bobby Charlton
That this House pays tribute to the life of Sir Bobby Charlton, one of England’s most successful footballers and a true great of the modern game, notes he won all the major honours with Manchester United and the World Cup with England. Notes he was admired for his gentlemanly behaviour and commends his football career spanning decades; further notes that Sir Bobby was a hero to millions of football fans around the world and inspired a generation of football fans; also notes that he was Manchester United's greatest ambassador; recognises that the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation gives much needed humanitarian assistance in landmine-afflicted areas and communities; offers deepest condolences to his wife Lady Norma, their children and grandchildren in celebration of his memory; and notes that Sir Bobby just simply the greatest player and a true gent and will be sadly missed.
