Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Christine Jardine (Liberal Democrat), on Monday, 29 April 2024, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 4 members in total.
Royal Bank of Scotland, Newbridge
That this House notes with concern the Royal Bank of Scotland has announced the closure of their Newbridge branch; further notes with concern that the impact on the residents of Newbridge this will have with their nearest branch now being nearly five miles away in Corstorphine; recognises the importance of the access to physical banking services with the impact of digital exclusion on older members of the community who rely on these services; and regrets the decision taken by the Royal Bank of Scotland’s parent company, NatWest, to close 20% of their branches across the UK.
