Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Alex Salmond (Scottish National Party), on Thursday, 28 January 1993, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 23 members in total.
OIL JOB RELOCATION TO SCOTLAND
That this House notes that it is now more than 18 months since the Select Committee on Energy endorsed the arguments on the substantial economic benefits which would arise from the relocation of the Petroleum Engineering Directorate from London to Scotland; further notes that the Department of Trade and Industry received a consultant's report on the issue last Autumn; reminds Ministers that these matters have been under discussion for many years; and calls for an early positive announcement of the transfer of these key civil service posts to the centre of the oil industry in the North East of Scotland.
