Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Michael Latham (Conservative), on Wednesday, 6 June 1990, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 8 members in total.
Soviet Jewish Emigration to Israel
That this House notes the public statement by the Saudi Foreign Minister on 2nd June that, at his meeting in Jeddah with the United Kingdom Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs that day, the two sides discussed extensively the dangers of Soviet Jewish emigration to occupied Palestine and the negative repercussions this emigration will have on the security and stability of the area; but is confident that the Secretary of State would have re-affirmed Britain's total and long standing support for Soviet Jewish emigration to Israel in its pre-1967 borders, where in fact the vast majority of the Soviet Jews are actually settling.
