Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor John McDonnell (Labour), on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 36 members in total.

Safe and legal routes for Sudanese people to the UK

That this House notes the Home Secretary's support for safe and legal routes for people seeking asylum; acknowledges that the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is severely limited and not meeting the desperate needs of the Sudanese people; and calls on the Government, bearing in mind the Foreign Secretary's report of the humanitarian crisis taking place in Sudan, to establish a safe and legal route for people from Sudan along the lines of the Ukrainian and Afghanistan schemes.
