Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Jon Trickett (Labour), on Thursday, 20 November 2025, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 17 members in total.
Local authority funding (No. 2)
That this House welcomes the Second Report of the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee on The Funding and Sustainability of Local Government Finance, published on 23 July 2025, HC 514; notes the strong evidence that local authority funding requires urgent reform, with increases to overall funding and changes to funding processes; expresses deep concerns over the flawed and costly s114 process which has exacerbated the impact of austerity in local communities; and urges the UK Government to fully implement the recommendations, including fully funding adult social care by the end of the current Parliament, and reforming the tax system, including Council Tax.
