Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Jim Allister (Traditional Unionist Voice), on Monday, 15 December 2025, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 6 members in total.
Acquittal of Shaun O’Sullivan, free speech and religious freedom
That this House welcomes the acquittal of Shaun O’Sullivan at Swindon Crown Court in November 2025; notes that the case raised serious concerns about freedom of speech, religious liberty, and the policing of so-called hate claims; and calls on the Government to ensure that lawful theological and political discourse is not criminalised, thereby safeguarding both free speech and religious freedom in public debate.
