ROYAL SOCIETY OF CHEMISTRY
That this House congratulates Dr Thomas D. Inch on his appointment as Secretary General of The Royal Society of Chemistry; notes the retirement of his distinguished predecessor Dr J.S. Gow under whose leadership the Society has played an increasingly active part in the Parliamentary life of both Houses; further notes the valuable role that the Society now plays in providing Right honourable and honourable Members on all sides with scientific information; believes in the importance of according British science the high status it deserves; and expresses the hope that this status can be enhanced by the active participation of scientists in all areas of national life.
