Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor David Chadwick (Liberal Democrat), on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 15 members in total.
Business rates reform and revaluation
That this House calls on the Government to postpone the implementation of new business rates valuations until it has published data on the impact of recent revaluations; believes that proceeding without this information risks unfair outcomes for businesses, especially hospitality businesses; and urges the Government to undertake further work to reform business rates in order to establish a fairer and more sustainable base of tax from which rates are charged.
