Queen Elizabeth Prize for Education 2026 for North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College

That this House congratulates North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (NWSLC) on being awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Prize for Education 2026; notes that the Prize, presented by Their Majesties The King and Queen at St James’s Palace, recognises exceptional contributions to education and innovation across the United Kingdom; further commends the College’s leadership of the MIRA Technology Institute (MTI), a unique collaboration with HORIBA MIRA, Coventry University, the University of Leicester, and Loughborough University, which has equipped tens of thousands of students, apprentices, and industry professionals with advanced technical skills vital to the UK’s automotive and emerging technologies sectors; acknowledges the College’s delivery of more than 50 accredited programmes spanning GCSE to doctoral level, and its impact in supporting over 61,000 learners since MTI’s launch in 2018; celebrates the role of NWSLC staff, governors, partners, and students in achieving this national honour; and recognises the College’s ongoing contribution to strengthening the UK’s engineering workforce, promoting STEM education, and supporting economic growth through innovation and skills development.
