Contribution of John McCue to astronomy and public service in North Yorkshire

That this House recognises and congratulates John McCue of Skelton on reaching 25 years of service as an Associate Lecturer with the Open University, through which he has supported and inspired over 2,000 students in astronomy and mathematics; commends his contribution to science as a founder member of the Cleveland and Darlington Astronomical Society; notes his work with the North York Moors National Park Authority including supporting the establishment of its new Dark Skies Station at Danby; acknowledges his service as a councillor on Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council; and praises his dedication to education, astronomy and public service, which has had a lasting impact on his community and beyond.
