Dementia Fest and the first anniversary of the launch of Dementia Heroes (No. 2)
That this House congratulates the Dementia Heroes community support group and dementia café on the creation of Dementia Fest in partnership with Glasgow Life; notes it is running as a part of Glasgow’s WestFest and will include an open air concert on Kelvin Way, a dementia film festival, dementia friendly health walks and reminiscence events at local iconic landmarks, including the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, Kelvingrove Park, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Riverside Museum and local libraries; recognises the vital work of local charities such as Dementia Heroes; further congratulates Dementia Heroes for being recently awarded the Commonwealth Festival Fund Award, to support both multicultural and socially disadvantaged communities; celebrates the expansion of Dementia Heroes’ service across the city through cafés and library dementia hour services; and wishes the best to everyone at Dementia Heroes as they reach the first anniversary of its launch.
