Armadale Community Centre and AC/DC

That this House celebrates the 50th anniversary of AC/DC’s performance at the Armadale Community Centre in 1976; welcomes the tribute concert planned for the 2nd of May costing the same as the original ticket price at 50 pence; notes that local groups will host a series of workshops to co-produce new content for the community museum; recognises the importance of this milestone in Armadale’s local history and its contribution to the cultural history of the community; further welcomes new local history projects as an integral part of early learning at primary schools; further recognises the contribution of the Community Centre in supporting aspiring musicians and hosting civic events; praises all the staff, past and present, for maintaining a focal point of community life; and acknowledges the concert’s significance in the formative years of a band that became one of the world’s most influential rock acts.
