Lancaster Day and investment in Lancaster City Museum

That this House celebrates Lancaster Day and recognises the city’s rich history, heritage and cultural contribution to the North West and the United Kingdom; notes that Lancaster’s museums, galleries and cultural institutions play a vital role in preserving local history, supporting education, attracting visitors and strengthening community pride; welcomes the award of £94,056 from the Government’s Arts Everywhere Fund to Lancaster City Museum to preserve local heritage and improve visitor experiences; recognises that arts and cultural spaces are at the heart of communities, bringing people together and showcasing what makes places unique and special; further welcomes the Government’s commitment to supporting cultural institutions and ensuring that heritage assets remain accessible to future generations; and commends the efforts of staff, volunteers, local organisations and residents who contribute to the cultural life of Lancaster, helping to ensure that the city’s history and identity continue to thrive.
