Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Dave Doogan (Scottish National Party), on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 11 members in total.

Scotland’s future 10 years after Brexit

That this House notes it is now ten years since Scotland voted to remain in the European Union by 62% to 38% yet was forced out of the EU against its will; recognises that Brexit has caused substantial economic harm and reduced Scotland’s security and international standing; believes that Scotland’s future lies as an independent nation within the European Union; affirms that only Scottish independence allows Scotland to rejoin the European family of nations as a full and equal member; and calls for Scotland to have the right to choose independence in order to rejoin the EU and allow Scotland to take her seat within the global international system of nations.
