Fountain Inn in Plumpton

That this House congratulates The Fountain Inn Community Benefit Society and residents of Plumpton on their campaign to bring The Fountain Inn into community ownership; notes that the pub has served the village for 175 years and remains an important part of local life; welcomes reports that almost £300,000 has been pledged towards the potential purchase of the pub; further notes with pleasure the support expressed by Her Majesty Queen Camilla, who spent part of her childhood in Plumpton; recognises the vital role that village pubs play in tackling loneliness, supporting local economies and bringing people together across generations; and wishes Stuart Wallis, the Community Benefit Society and the whole Plumpton community every success in their efforts to secure the future of The Fountain Inn.
