Leicester Comedy Festival

That this House celebrates the Leicester Comedy Festival as one of Leicester's greatest cultural success stories; recognises the festival's contribution to showcasing Leicester as a creative and vibrant city; notes the significant economic benefits it brings to local businesses, hospitality venues and the wider economy; pays tribute to the organisers, volunteers and performers who have built the festival into an internationally recognised event; expresses concern that financial pressures may threaten its future; believes that Leicester would be poorer without this flagship celebration of comedy; and encourages organisations and individuals across Leicester, Leicestershire and beyond to support fundraising efforts to ensure that the festival can continue to thrive and bring enjoyment to audiences for many years to come.
