Funding support for Drumchapel LIFE and Men Matter Scotland

That this House warmly welcomes the announcement that Drumchapel LIFE and Men Matter Scotland, based in Drumchapel, in Glasgow West constituency, are among 23 projects across Scotland to receive a share of a £2.2 million Self Management Fund administrated by the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland; notes that this scheme supports people living with long-term health conditions, disabled people, and unpaid carers by helping them take control of their health and wellbeing; understands that the funding will support Drumchapel LIFE’s wellbeing programmes, which teach practical skills and promote positive physical and mental health; further understands that Men Matter Scotland will utilise the funding to develop a programme of mental health support for men experiencing mental ill health and suicidal ideation due to work pressures; recognises the importance of funding of this nature that invests in person centred care to help tackle health inequalities; commends the work of the local organisations, volunteers, and partners who helped to secure this funding and who will use it to continue to deliver for local people; and wishes both organisations every success as they continue to deliver these vital services in the community.
