Newcastle-under-Lyme and the 70th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award

That this House celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award; recognises the scheme's outstanding contribution to the personal development of millions of young people in Newcastle-under-Lyme, across the UK and around the world; commends the vision of His late Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in establishing an award that continues to build confidence, resilience and life skills in young people regardless of their background; acknowledges the work of His Royal Highness, Prince Edward, patron of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, who has continued and strengthened the legacy of his father; further recognises all those who live, learn and work in Newcastle-under-Lyme who have taken part in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award; thanks the countless volunteers, leaders and organisations who allow young people to take part across schools, youth groups and communities; and wishes the Duke of Edinburgh's Award continued success in inspiring and empowering future generations in Newcastle-under-Lyme and across the world.
