Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Christine Jardine (Liberal Democrat), on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 4 members in total.
Proposed Scottish Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame
That this House welcomes the proposal by ScotsRock to establish Scotland's first dedicated Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame to honour the country's outstanding musical history and support the next generation of talent; celebrates Scotland's extraordinary, world-class contribution to global music and its legendary artists, songwriters, and industry pioneers; notes the esteemed backing of major cultural figures for this initiative, including Midge Ure, Lulu, Jim Kerr, Travis, and Del Amitri; recognises that housing this national landmark within the former Centre for Contemporary Arts building on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, offers an opportunity to preserve an historic creative hub and revitalize the city's cultural scene; and urges the UK and Scottish Governments to work collaboratively to support this project and ensure Scotland's rich musical story is given a permanent and celebrated home.
