University of St Andrews named top university

That this House congratulates the University of St Andrews on being named the top university in the United Kingdom and Scottish University of the Year in The Sunday Times Good University Guide; notes that the Guide is the longest-running ranking of UK universities and one of the most respected measures of higher education excellence; recognises that this achievement marks the third time in six years that St Andrews has been ranked first, ahead of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, Imperial College London and the London School of Economics; commends the dedication of the University's staff, students and leadership whose hard work has contributed to this success; further recognises the University's longstanding contribution to academic excellence, research, innovation and student experience; and celebrates the positive impact the University of St Andrews has on the local community, economy and international reputation of North East Fife and Scotland as a whole.
